Adopt-a-Drain Program

Did you know storm drains carry rainwater directly to our local lakes, rivers, and Puget Sound, often without any treatment? In fact, stormwater is the largest source of pollution in Puget Sound.

That’s why keeping leaves, trash, and other pollutants out of storm drains is so important! By protecting our drains, we protect our waterways– making them cleaner and healthier for everyone.

The Adopt-a-Drain program provides community members the opportunity to contribute to cleaner water and a healthier environment. Any individual, family, organization, or business can sign up (all participants under 15 years of age should have an adult to help them).

To recognize your dedication to clean water, you will receive a yard sign or window decal like the image pictured here, to proudly display to your neighbors. Other program incentives, like work gloves, garbage grabbers, safety vests, and more are also available upon request.

Date(s):	Flexible to your schedule.
Qualifications:	Any individual, family, organization or business. Anyone 15 years or younger should have an adult to assist them.
Commitment:	Preferred to clean your drain once a month, but you are free to clean and report when your schedule allows.
