Annual Waterline Flushing Program Begins October 1
Every year from October to May, our Public Works Water Operations Division flushes the main waterlines to keep them clear and clean. This preventative-maintenance practice, called unidirectional waterline flushing, removes sediment and mineral buildup from the waterlines and requires large volumes of water.
So, if you see large amounts of water flowing down the street into storm drains — look around for our crews; they may be flushing the lines nearby. They will also post signs in the area.
The flushing program will not disrupt your service. However, if you have questions or concerns, contact our Public Works Department at 360-491-5644.
