City Council Approves 2025 Work Plan
Last month, the City Council (Council) adopted the 2025 Work Plan. The Work Plan is a strategic, transparent guide for major initiatives, priority projects, and programs, as determined by the Council. During its January retreat, the Council reviewed the previous work plan from 2022-2024 and set priorities for 2025.
Some highlights of the 40 initiatives successfully completed from the 2022-2024 period include:
- Established the food truck plaza and Night Market at the Depot
- Became a CDBG entitlement community and created the Human Services Grant Program.
- Launched an online community response system to improve communications with the public (LaceyWorks).
- Expanded public art, including the utility wrap program and installation of the Gold Star Memorial Monument.
- Amended Neighborhood Commercial Zoning District regulations.
- Expanded City Electric Vehicle infrastructure and fleet.
- Broke ground on the construction of the new Police Station.
Over the past two years, City staff dedicated significant time and energy to implementing these projects and initiatives. You can read more about the 2022-2024 Work Plan accomplishments on our website.
With the 2025 Work Plan, the City transitioned from a two-year period to an annual period. This transition will align with the City’s annual budget cycle and more effectively direct resources toward key initiatives.
For the 2025 Work Plan, the Council once again combined its priorities and initiatives with community-identified needs. These programs and priorities support the City’s growth and enrich the lives of our community members. Some key items include:
- Greg Cuoio Park Phase 1A construction
- College St. corridor improvements
- City Comprehensive Plan Update
- RAC Phase III expansion
- An Annexation Study
- Biennial Community Survey
- Economic Development Strategy
- Museum & Cultural Center funding strategy
The 2025 Work Plan includes several more items. Visit our website to explore the full plan.
In the coming weeks, we will update the City Council’s Mission, Vision, and Priorities page with more information about the 2025 Work Plan.
