Grant and Funding Opportunities

The City offers funding to support a range of community needs, including human services, neighborhood cleanups, and local events. While the City does not directly provide these services, we offer grant and funding opportunities to community groups that carry out these programs.

Human Services Grants

Eligible Applicants: Non-profit Organizations

Annual Application Period: May – June

Human Services Grants support non-profit organizations that provide essential social services for low-income and vulnerable populations. Services offered must focus on basic needs such as housing, survival, and security.

The Human Services Commission reviews the final grant applications and makes a recommendation to the City Council on the use of human services funding.

Lacey Neighborhood Grant Program (LNGP)

Eligible Applicants: Homeowners Associations (HOAs) and Informal Neighborhood Groups

Annual Application Period: January – March

Both formally recognized HOAs and informal neighborhood groups within city limits may apply for the LNGP. Informal groups include communities without a registered HOA, board members, or formal governing rules. This matching grant program offers up to $2,500 to support projects that build community pride, enhance neighborhood beautification, and increase resident involvement.

Lodging Tax Funding

Eligible Applicants: Organizations Promoting and Enhancing Tourism

Application Period: July – August

Lodging Tax Funding supports organizations that promote and enhance tourism in Lacey and its Urban Growth Area. Eligible uses include tourism marketing, organizing special events and festivals that attract visitors, and supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by a municipality, public facilities district, or nonprofit organization.

Each year, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) reviews applications for funding and makes a recommendation to the City Council on the use of lodging tax revenues.

Community and Cultural Events Grants

Eligible Applicants: Non-profit Organizations

Application Period:  Now accepting applications through Friday, February 27, at 5 p.m.

Community and Cultural Event Grants help nonprofits bring people together through local community events and cultural celebrations. Eligible expenses include event coordination, reasonable expenditures for staff time, advertising, venue costs, equipment, rentals, food or catering costs (excluding alcohol), permitting fees, and other related expenses.
