The City of Lacey (City) Water Resources Department invites the community to a 2026 Stormwater Strategic Plan (SSP) open house on Monday,
April 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Lacey City Hall Council Chambers, 420 College St SE.
During the open house, community members can browse stormwater-related materials, interact with City staff, and provide comment on specific goals in
the SSP, such as:
- Flooding Reduction: Prevent flooding in the public stormwater system.
- Water Quality Improvement: Ensure waterbodies in Lacey meet standards for recreation and fish habitat.
- Habitat Improvement: Support aquatic species to thrive in Lacey’s waterbodies.
- Public Participation: Increase community awareness of how everyday actions affect stormwater.
Background
Stormwater is rain or snow that flows over streets, parking lots, and other hard surfaces. The SSP outlines key goals and projects aimed at reducing flooding and protecting local water quality.
