Community Invited to Lacey Parks Open House on June 1 to Help Set Future Priorities

The City of Lacey’s Parks, Culture, and Recreation (Lacey Parks) Department invites the public to an Energize Lacey! Open House on Wednesday, June 1 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 420 College Street SE. Community members can attend in person or remotely via Zoom. The open house will take place during the regularly scheduled Board of Park Commissioners meeting.

Energize Lacey! Open House attendees will have an opportunity to review materials, including a Lacey parks map and Greg Cuoio Park & Greenways vision board, ask questions, take a survey, and provide input on Lacey Park’s priorities for the next six years. Community feedback will help shape the 2023 Parks, Culture and Recreation Comprehensive Plan update. Attendees will also have a chance to meet the Park Commissioners.

Community members who plan to attend the event remotely can register by visiting laceyparks.org/About/Board. Those who are unable to attend the event can provide input by taking the online survey at laceyparks.org/About/Park-Planning-Projects/Energize-Lacey, now through the end of August.

Background

In 2021, Lacey Parks engaged the Lacey community in a discussion about how they would like their City to look, feel, and function in the future. Based on the input received, Lacey Parks established a solid framework for future strategic planning. Now, Lacey Parks needs help establishing priorities. The goal is to build a shared vision for the future of Lacey’s park and recreation assets and opportunities.
