The Commission on Equity consists of seven adults and one youth member from the Lacey Youth Council. General Commissioners serve for three years. The Youth Commissioner will serve for one year. All Commissioners may serve two consecutive terms. In order to qualify, applicants must reside in the City of Lacey or the Lacey Urban Growth Area (UGA).
On Thursday, May 20, 2021, the Lacey City Council appointed the inaugural members to the newly formed Commission on Equity. The appointments follow an extensive application and review process, and come as a recommendation from the former Equity Workgroup (also known as the Civic Leaders Forum). This group was instrumental in helping the City of Lacey develop its Commission on Equity ordinance.

Commission on Equity meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month at 5:30 pm via Zoom Video Conference.
Written Public Comment may be submitted to the Commission on Equity by emailing COE@ci.lacey.wa.us. All comments provided by email must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the Commission on Equity meeting.
