Lacey Hosts All Abilities Community Forum on May 20

The City of Lacey’s Commission on Equity (COE) will hold an All Abilities Community Forum (Forum) on Monday, May 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey. This is the COE’s fourth forum and all community members are invited and welcome to attend.

The Forum will take place in a welcoming environment, where people impacted by various impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions — such as those related to vision, movement, remembering, communication, hearing, mental health, and social interactions — can share their perspectives with the City. The Forum provides an opportunity for all community members to ask questions, express concerns, raise issues, and provide feedback in an inclusive, community setting.

In addition to inviting community members to share their experiences, the event features a panel of speakers, including representatives from North Thurston Public Schools, Senior Services for the South Sound, InterCity Transit, and Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

“The COE wants to hear your thoughts, concerns, and recommendations for the City of Lacey,” stated COE chair, Annie Clay. “Your feedback is an important part of our efforts to make Lacey a more welcoming place to live, work, and play.”
