The City of Lacey (City) is recruiting for the following vacancy on the Civil Service Commission:
- An unexpired term, ending on October 1, 2029. Applicants for this vacancy must reside within Lacey City Limits and/or the Lacey Urban Growth Area (UGA).
The Lacey Civil Service Commission, a three-member board, adopts rules for the regulation of personnel matters and competitive examinations for the Lacey Police Department’s classified employees. It also hears appeals arising from the administration of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
To help reduce barriers to participation in government and increase representation, the City’s Advisory Board members are eligible for a $50 stipend per meeting, up to $500 per year. This aims to offset expenses for participating on an advisory board, such as childcare coverage during meetings, transportation to and from meetings, internet access for meetings, and other direct financial impacts.
