Lacey Seeks Parks Board Member

The City of Lacey (City) is currently recruiting for one unexpired term on the Parks, Culture, and Recreation Board (Parks Board). The term expires on August 3, 2029. Applicants for this vacancy must reside within the Lacey City Limits or the Lacey Urban Growth Area.

The eight-member Parks Board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding planning, promotion, acquisition, construction, and development of parks and open spaces, recreation facilities, and recreation programs. The Parks Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 420 College Street SE.

To help reduce barriers to participation in government and increase representation, the City’s Advisory Board members are eligible for a $50 stipend per meeting, up to $500 per year. This aims to offset expenses such as childcare coverage during meetings, transportation to and from meetings, internet access to meetings, and other direct financial impacts.

How to Apply

To apply, submit an application online. The vacancy is open until filled. First review of applications will occur within 30 days of notice.
