The Lacey Veterans Services Hub (LVSH) serves as a one-stop shop for Thurston County Veterans and their families to obtain human services. There are nine areas of services provided at the Hub.

Benefits

We assist veterans with VA claims, education benefits, and medical eligibility so they get everything that they’ve already earned.    The VA recommends that you don’t do your disability claims on your own and that you get a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) to help you. Luckily we have excellent VSO’s who will sit down with you and help you navigate the complex process all the way through. *It is HIGHLY recommended that you see a VSO for a claim if you’ve never had one filed or if you haven’t had a claim review in a few years as the governing regulations could’ve changed.

Here is a list of documents to have in preparation to meet with a VSO.

Employment

We help veterans with employment, training, and job readiness assistance, that includes how to update their resume and enhance their interview skills.

Housing

We work hard with our partners and veterans to assist them with housing.  If you are a homeless Veteran or about to become homeless join us every Thursday (except holidays) at 10 a.m. for our Veterans Housing Option Group (VHOG) to learn about what programs are available to assist you. *Eligibility requirements differ

Finance

We offer financial assistance, counseling, and classes to veterans in need. Thurston County Veterans Assistance Program is on-site M-F. *Eligibility requirements differ

Counseling

We offer on-site counseling and peer-to-peer support for Veterans and their families in conjunction with the Vet Center and Behavioral Health Resources.

  • If it is an emergency and you feel like you cannot wait to be seen, PLEASE call the 988 Crisis Line or visit their web-site

Education

We help our veterans not only prepare to go back to school but work to show them how to make it affordable. There are several programs that benefit members of the military, family members and veterans.

Nutrition

We offer nutrition classes and have partnered with the Thurston County Food Bank as a satellite food bank location M-F.

Healthcare

We’re in partnership with the American Lake Veterans Affairs campus to provide limited healthcare coverage to veterans in need. *Eligibility requirements differ

Our Veteran Service Officers (VSO) will sit down with you and help you navigate the complex paperwork and bureaucracy to submit your VA Disability Claim. This way you can get the medical and dental care that you’ve already earned from the VA.

We offer legal services to our veterans through onsite volunteer attorneys and through the Northwest Justice Project.
