The Road to Better Streets Starts with You

The 2025 State of the Streets Report is in, and thanks to your support, 96.8% of Lacey roads are in very good or good condition. That’s a network of 426.9 lane miles you can rely on to get where you’re going — safely and smoothly.

Our Public Works staff proactively inspects roads for damage, tracks conditions, and plans and completes repairs before they get worse and cost more to repair.

Thanks to the 2017 voter-approved Transportation Benefit District (TBD) sales tax, we have dedicated funding for street and sidewalk maintenance. Your TBD tax dollar investment allows the City to keep streets and transportation infrastructure in top condition for everyone.

News and Updates

Scoop the Poop!

Silhouettes of three people walking three different dogs on leashes, each facing to the right.

We love seeing our furry friends at events and walking at our local parks — just don’t forget to pick up after them!

Others enjoy our outdoor spaces too, and stepping on an unexpected mess ruins the fun. Please always leash your pets, clean up their waste, and dispose of it in the trash.

Get A Free Water-Saving Kit

It’s nearly summer time! Which means we’re approaching the months when water usage increases in Lacey.

To help reduce costs and water usage, the City offers a variety of free water-saving kits for residents. Choose from indoor and outdoor kits, sprinkler timers, and other items.

To get items, bring your account number or water bill to Lacey City Hall. You can also visit our Water Conservation page to request a kit online.

Adopt-A-Drain

Trash, leaves, and other contaminants don’t disappear when they land in storm drains. These materials end up where drains flow — directly into rivers, lakes, creeks, and the Puget Sound.

Adopting a storm drain is easy and requires less than one hour of volunteering a month.

Join your fellow community members in reducing flooding and protecting our waterways.

Visit WA.Adopt-A-Drain.org for more information.

Watering Schedule Resumes June 1

Did you know — from June to September the average daily water use of all Lacey water customers more than doubles?
To meet demand without adding costly infrastructure that would increase rates, the City uses a mandatory alternating day watering schedule.
See the information below to know when you can water outdoors. We don’t limit how much water you can use, but if we all take turns, we can deliver enough water using our existing systems.

A chart showing watering days: odd addresses water on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday; even addresses water on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday; no watering on Fridays.
