Winter Weather is on the Way: Prepare Now!
Snow, ice, and extreme weather can make it hard to get around. With a little preparation before the cold weather hits, we can all stay safer on the roads. To reduce the risks of winter driving:
- Winterize your vehicle to help ensure it’s safe to drive during bad weather.
- Check current road conditions and weather forecast before beginning your trip.
- Follow safe winter-driving tips, including allowing extra time to get to your destination.

What to Expect from the City During a Winter Storm
During a snowstorm, our crews work hard to clear and maintain priority routes for emergency vehicles. Once priority routes are cleared, our crews begin working on secondary routes to provide better access for transit, schools, and commuters. If snowfall continues, priority routes may require repeated plowing, which may delay secondary route clearing.
Will My Neighborhood Streets Get Plowed?
The City does not have the resources to plow neighborhood streets. Homeowners Associations (HOAs) can visit the website listed below to learn about our HOA Snow Plowing Policy.

Save Energy and Money with Our Electrification Rebate!

Once again, the City has teamed up with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to help Lacey homeowners save energy and cash! You can get up to $8,000 by participating in PSE’s Fuel Switching Heat Pump Program. The program offers a one-time $4,000 rebate from PSE for switching from gas heating and cooling to electric by installing a heat pump.
How does it work? The City matches the PSE rebate for qualified customers (see linked website for full details). And, to make it super easy — you only have to apply once with PSE. Get double the rebate with no extra paperwork!
This matching rebate program is funded by a City initiative as part of our Climate Action Plan. Funds are limited, so don’t wait! You must complete all work by Friday, December 12 and submit your PSE application by Friday, December 19.
To learn more about how you can save money and energy, visit the Energy Rebate webpage.

LVSH Enhances Access and Invites You
Each month, the Lacey Veterans Services Hub (LVSH) helps hundreds of Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and their families connect with vital resources, including housing, employment, VA benefits, behavioral health, legal support, transportation, and more. Since opening in 2014, the LVSH has continued to enhance its services and community partnerships to over 150 organizations, making it a true gold mine of support in our community!

NEW! Schedule Appointments Online
To make access even easier, clients can now book appointments with a Veteran Service Officer online — anytime, 24/7! You can book appointments as early as 24 hours in advance, and up to 30 days prior, offering greater convenience and predictability for clients and providers. To book an appointment, visit the LVSH webpage.
Prefer to schedule by phone? The LVSH will continue to accept reservations by calling the front desk at 360-456-3850. The same booking time frames apply.
Volunteers are the Heartbeat of the LVSH
The LVSH is able to accomplish such great work thanks to the wonderful volunteers. They have volunteer positions available with flexible schedules to fit your availability.
LVSH Volunteers:
- Make a positive impact in their community.
- Build meaningful connections with Veterans and their families.
- Gain valuable experience and personal fulfillment.
