LaceyLife: New Looks and Schedule Coming Soon!

Starting in 2026, LaceyLife will shift from a monthly publication sent with utility (water) bills to a quarterly newsletter mailed directly to all Lacey addresses.

Why the change? We want to make sure LaceyLife reaches as many community members as possible — including people who don’t receive a water bill from the City (such as people living in multi-family housing) and those who pay their bill online.

A white note with a yellow pushpin reads: "Notice! Watch for more details on a new LaceyLife look and schedule!" in red and blue text.

Even though you’ll receive the newsletter less often, each issue will be bigger and packed with more stories, updates, and seasonal information to keep you connected to your community! Watch for more information in future newsletters.

Sign Up for E-Newsletters!

We have several newsletters you can sign up to receive by email — including LaceyWeekly. It includes the latest news, events, and information, every week! You can also register for project-specific road construction updates, and City department newsletters.

Visit the Email Updates webpage to sign up for the topics that interest you. Spread the word!

Budget Season is Here!

As we continue preparing the City’s annual budget, we invite and encourage public involvement at the Budget public hearings. To learn more about the Budget process, including dates for the public hearings, visit the Budget webpage.

PARKSPLORATION: Horizon Pointe Park

Three images: a colorful playground with slides, an athletic field with people in the distance, and an outdoor basketball hoop near trees, each labeled at the bottom.

Horizon Pointe Park is one of our many neighborhood parks, offering something for just about everyone. Whether you’re looking for an afternoon of play or planning to spend the whole day — you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy the Park.

Want to kick around a soccer ball, toss a frisbee, or play tag? The Park’s large open field is the perfect place. Prefer a quieter pace? Grab a seat on a bench and dive into a good book while the kids explore the play structure or shoot hoops with friends. A win-win!

The covered picnic shelter is a great spot for birthday parties, family gatherings, or even a lunch break — and best of all, it’s available on a first-come, first-served basis with no rental fee required.

Come fall (like now!), the Park comes alive with energy as football, soccer, cheerleading, and other teams fill the
open field for practice.

The land for Horizon Pointe Park was dedicated to the City in 1998 and developed in 2005, alongside the Horizon Pointe neighborhood. Today, it’s a great space for neighbors to gather, play, and connect.

Protect the Source: Source Water Protection Week

September 28 – October 4

The City gets all its water from groundwater sources. That’s why it’s so important to safeguard our water sources from contaminants.

Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Do not dump hazardous waste down the sink, toilet, or stormdrain, or on the ground.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of your dog’s waste.
  • Limit use of pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Report spills by calling (360) 491-5644, or visiting Lacey Works.

Help Prevent Local Flooding

Fall has officially arrived and with it comes falling leaves and rain. If your neighborhood has lots of leaves, help reduce the chance of local flooding by making sure they aren’t clogging storm drains. If you find a storm drain that’s covered or clogged with debris, use a rake or broom to clear it. Other things to keep in mind:

  • Never blow or sweep yard debris into the roadway.
  • Use leaves to mulch planting beds to provide winter protection for plants.
  • Dispose of leaves in your organics cart or compost pile.
  • Maintain gutters, downspouts, rain barrels, etc. by keeping them cleared of debris and directed away from properties or hillsides.

If you see major flooding or cannot clear a drain, call our Public Works Department at (360) 491-5644 during business hours or (360) 704-2740
after hours.
