What’s Happening in Lacey?

Three people walk on a shaded dirt path surrounded by tall trees and green foliage in a forested area on a sunny day.

Have you had a chance to check out the first 139 developed acres of Greg Cuoio Park? If not, be sure to visit soon! You can walk nature trails, play a round of disc golf, eat your lunch at the picnic shelter, and kids can enjoy the playground!

Greg Cuoio Park offers natural beauty and recreational opportunities while preserving critical wetlands, creeks, and forested areas.

This completes Phase 1A of the park, according to the Greg Cuoio Park and Greenways Master Plan. And there’s more to come! Future improvements will be constructed as funding becomes available.

You can visit Greg Cuoio Park at 2711 Carpenter Rd NE from 7 a.m. until dark.

News and Updates

Don’t Let Winter Weather Catch You by Surprise

A snow plow truck with a de-icing sign sprays liquid on a snowy road at an intersection with traffic lights in winter.

Colder weather will arrive soon. With a little preparation, we can all stay safe on the roads this winter. Now is a great time to winterize your vehicle and save important webpages so you can easily check road conditions and forecasts before beginning your trip.

During a snowstorm, our crews work hard to clear and maintain priority routes for emergency vehicles. Once priority routes are cleared, they begin working on other routes for transit, schools, and commuters.

To learn more about our snow and ice response, including our Snow Plow map, visit CityofLacey.org/Snow-and-Ice.

Save Energy. Save Cash. Stay Comfortable.

Are you looking to make your home more energy-efficient while saving money?

Energize Thurston offers Lacey residents access to exclusive discounts and financial incentives for qualifying heat pumps and heat pump water heaters.

Energize Thurston is a partnership between the cities of Lacey, Tumwater, and Olympia, Thurston County, and South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity.

To learn more about the program and eligibility, visit EnergizeThurston.org.

It’s Budget Season! Get Involved. Your Input Matters

The annual budget is one the most important documents the City produces. It provides information on revenues (how the City collects funds from a variety of sources) and expenditures (how the City plans to use funds during the current year).

Every year, the budget process begins in July and continues into the fall. As we prepare the City’s annual budget, we invite and encourage public involvement at the key dates listed to the side.

To learn about the City’s funding, expenditures, how sales tax is distributed, and more, visit CityofLacey.org/Budget.
