Need a Little Extra Help? Food and Utility Bill Assistance Available
Even if you don’t need assistance, you can also donate to support these programs.
When a federal government shutdown happens, it can create challenges for many in our community — especially those who rely on government assistance to afford essentials such as food and utility bills. Many of our neighbors may feel the impact, especially community members with limited incomes or disabilities. We offer several programs to support community members in times of need, and there are also ways for you to give back and help too!
Utility Assistance Programs
These City programs are for community members who need help paying their water bills.
- Lacey Utility Discount Program (LUDP) offers a 50% discount on residential City utility services to customers who qualify as low-income and disabled, or low-income and over 62 years old.
- Lacey Utility Assistance Fund (LUAF) helps individuals and families who qualify with up to $75 twice a year, if the program has funds available.
Food Assistance Programs
For food benefits, the City, in partnership with the Thurston County Food Bank, offers food assistance at the Lacey Food Pantry and Farm Stand.
Any community member can also get non-perishable items at the Lacey Veterans Services Hub during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays)
How You Can Help
If you’d like to help support these programs, you can donate to the Lacey Food Bank Project or the Lacey Utility Assistance Fund when you pay your utility bill.
Please contact our Utility Billing Department at 360-491-5616 or UtilityBilling@CityofLacey.org for further assistance.
