Assault Suspect Arrested
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at approximately 10:57 AM, Lacey Police were dispatched to an address in the 8000-block of North Bicentennial Loop SE for a suspicious circumstance. A resident called 911 to advise that a female came to their home crying, saying a male was after her.
The investigation determined that a 20-year-old female was selling books door-to-door and contacted a 53-year-old male at his residence. The male suspect expressed interest in buying books by retrieving his wallet. As he came back to the door, he grabbed the female by the hair and pulled her into the residence. He struck her several times on the head with a hammer and threatened to kill her if she did not stop yelling.
The female fought back and kicked the male suspect in the face, knocking him backwards. She was then able to escape and seek help, but not before grabbing the suspect’s wallet so that he could be identified by authorities.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence, and with the assistance of our regional partners, he was taken into custody. The suspect was booked into the Thurston County Jail on charges of Assault 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, and Felony Harassment. The female received treatment for injuries at a local hospital.
“We are very proud of this young lady. She is a survivor. She met evil head-on, and after being struck several times on the head with a hammer, had the wherewithal to collect his identification on the way out.” – Detective Sergeant Jeremy Knight.
