Road Rage Incident Response

Lacey Police Department responded to a road rage incident with shots fired on Friday, December 19th at 2051 hours in the 2400 block of Marvin Road NE.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 48-year-old male with a gunshot wound in the roadway. Life-saving measures were provided to the male until Lacey Fire arrived on scene and took over. Sadly, the male was declared deceased at the scene.

Officers located the 24-year-old male reporting party nearby, who admitted to being the shooter. Witnesses stated that the two vehicles were involved in a road rage incident, which culminated in the victim stopping and exiting his vehicle and the two males exchanging words before the suspect fired one shot from inside his vehicle. The suspect then called 911.

The suspect was interviewed by Detectives, transported, and booked into the Thurston County Jail for Murder 2nd.
