Project Background

Miles Resources, LLC was awarded this contract.

This contract provides for the installation of approximately 4,100 LF of 6-inch, 8-inch, 12-inch, 16-inch, and 18-inch diameter water main and street reconstruction with fiber reinforced hot mix asphalt on Carpenter Rd. SE and nearby streets. Work to include pavement removal, paving, adjustment of utility appurtenances, striping, water service line, meters, valves, transfer of water services, connections to existing water system, water main abandonments, sewer stub, pavement and lawn restoration and other work.

Miles Resources, LLC is working to prepare for and connect new utilities. Additional notice will be provided for customers impacted by temporary utility shutdowns. Access will be maintained to Intercity Transit, NTPS routes and Lacey Fire District 3. Expect traffic delays and temporary lane closures over the next few months; Use alternate routes if possible. Final paving will not occur until summer.

Weekend work on Saturday, March 11th.

Work will occur in the area in front of the North Thurston Public Schools Service Center on Saturday from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Miles Resources, LLC is working to prepare for and connect new utilities. Additional notice will be provided for customers impacted by temporary utility shutdowns. Access will be maintained to Intercity Transit, NTPS routes and Lacey Fire District 3. Expect traffic delays and temporary lane closures over the next few months; Use alternate routes if possible. Final paving will not occur until summer.

Work will occur in the area in front of the North Thurston Public Schools Service Center on Saturday from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

February 14, 2023

Night work beginning during the evening of Wednesday, February 15th.

Miles Resources, LLC is working to prepare for and connect new utilities. A second crew will be starting work at the project limits in the vicinity of the Woodland Trail. Expect traffic delays and temporary lane closures over the next few months; Use alternate routes if possible. Final paving will not occur until summer.

Night work beginning during the evening of Wednesday, February 15th.

Work will occur in the area shown in red overnight from 5:00 PM Wednesday – 8:00 AM Thursday morning. Please use extra caution in this area and use alternate routes if possible. Water utility customers impacted by the interruption of service will be provided notice individually.

Temporary Closure and Impacted NTPS Route

Due to work in the roadway in the vicinity of Carpenter Rd SE/14th Ave SE, portions of this intersection will be closed intermittently (as shown). One access will remain open at a time but Southbound or Northbound access to Carpenter Road from this neighborhood will be restricted.  NTPS bus routes will be temporarily revised to accommodate this change; please contact NTPS Transportation with questions related to this change at (360) 412-4545 or via your SmartTag Parent Portal. Traffic will be stopped in both directions during student pickup and drop off in the impacted area.
