Project Background

City Staff identified the Pacific Ave/Homann Dr Roundabout and adjacent section of Homann Dr as a logical candidate for roadway rehabilitation. A 2.5” Grind/Overlay will be performed as night work (7PM-5AM) on the Pacific/Homann Roundabout to minimize impact to traffic through the area. The section of Homann Dr. SE from the roundabout to 13th will be fully reconstructed during typical working hours with additional curb, gutter, sidewalk, ADA compliant curb ramps and drainage along the southeast portion of the project.

2 additional sharrow routes, or roads with a shared lane environment with vehicles and bicycles, will also be striped under the scope of this project. Route 2 travels east/west from the Chehalis Western Trail to Carpenter Rd primarily along 21st/22nd Ave and Shady Ln SE. Route 5 travels north/south from 22nd St SE to 3rd Ave primarily along Golf Club Rd SE.

This contract has been awarded to Active Construction Inc. and has an anticipated start date of 9/3

Road Closure - Pacific/Homann RAB

Homann Dr SE will be closed for curb/sidewalk/driveway improvements and paving between 13^th Ave SE and Lacey Blvd SE for approximately 3 weeks. Businesses will remain open during construction. Local access to businesses limited to Homann Dr will be provided via flaggers; businesses in the Lacey Downs shopping area will have access via Lacey Blvd SE, Clearbrook Dr SE, and 14^th Ave SE entrances.

Pacific Ave SE/Lacey Blvd SE/Homann Dr SE Roundabout will be closed between the hours of 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM the following nights for paving operations:

Detours will be provided via Carpenter Rd SE – Martin Way SE – College St SE. Please use alternate routes. This work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.

Roadway grinding will begin Friday evening in the roundabout. Expect usually loud noise during this period.
