Scam Alert: Fake Permit Fee Requests
The City of Lacey has been made aware of a nationwide scam targeting individuals and businesses with active building or land use permits. Scammers are impersonating city staff and requesting payment for “outstanding” or “final” permit fees to avoid delays.
Typically, these scam requests come in the form of emails. However, scams can come as letters in the mail, text messages, and phone calls. Always remain vigilant with any requests for payment.
