Fireworks in Lacey
Consumer Fireworks Ban
The City of Lacey reminds residents and visitors that fireworks may not be sold or discharged in our community. In 2013, a majority of voters in Lacey approved a ban on consumer fireworks (LMC 9.20.046) and these regulations prohibit the sale, purchase, or discharge of fireworks in the City of Lacey at all times of the year.
This prohibition does not apply to public displays or to the sale, use, and discharge of small trick and novelty devices.
- Novelty devices such as snakes, glow worms, and party poppers are permitted.
- Sparklers and all other types of “safe and sane” fireworks are prohibited.
- Fireworks purchased or sold in other communities may not be used in Lacey.
Lacey residents or Neighborhood Associations may check out a Fireworks Ban sign for their neighborhood starting June 20, at Lacey City Hall. We ask that the yard signs get returned after the holiday.
