Every year the City partners with Scout Troop 222 to provide curbside pick-up of holiday trees for Lacey residents who live within the city limits. Residents must remove all decorations and place their tree at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day. Trees with ornaments, tinsel, or stands will not be accepted as they cannot be recycled. Apartment residents should check with managers for locations to place their trees.
The collection day this holiday season is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2023. A huge thank you to our program partners, Asplund Tree Expert, LLC who volunteer their time and equipment to chip all of the trees collected, and LeMay Pacific Disposal who donate the collection bins to hold all of the chipped trees. This effort could not be done without their generous support!

This service is offered to Lacey residents only. If you live outside the Lacey city limits, you can take your tree to the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center located at 2420 Hogum Bay Rd NE and dispose of your tree free of charge through January 15.
Pacific Disposal customers may place trees cut into 3-foot sections in, or next to, the yard-waste container on regularly scheduled yard-waste collection days.
Regardless of how they are collected, all trees end up at the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center for recycling.
