Holiday Tree Round-Up

The City partners with Scout Troops 222 and 9207 to provide curbside pick-up of holiday trees for Lacey residents who live within the city limits (Click here to see if your address is in the city limits). Residents must remove all decorations and place their tree at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day. Trees with ornaments, tinsel, or stands will not be accepted as they cannot be recycled. Apartment residents should check with managers for locations to place their trees.

The collection day this holiday season will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Registration or sign-up to participate is not required! A huge thank you to our program partner, LeMay Pacific Disposal who donate the collection bins to hold all of the trees and then transport them to the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center for recycling. This effort could not be done without their generous support!

The Scouts accept and appreciate donations for this great community service! Donations can be made:

  • Online
  • By mail to Scout Troop 222, PO Box 5379, Lacey, WA 98509 – Please make checks payable to Troop 222.

This service is offered to Lacey residents only. If you live outside the Lacey city limits, you can take your tree to the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center located at 2420 Hogum Bay Rd NE and dispose of your tree free of charge through January 19 (closed January 1).

Pacific Disposal customers may place trees cut into 3-foot sections in, or next to, the yard-waste container on regularly scheduled yard-waste collection days.

Regardless of how they are collected, all trees end up at the Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center for recycling.
