Notice of Public Hearing – City of Lacey – Vacation of Unopened Right-of-Way (ROW)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lacey City Council has scheduled a Public Hearing to receive testimony regarding the consideration of Vacation of Certain Unopened Right-of-Way Abutting Rainier Road on August 17, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be conducted in-person and remotely. The public may watch the meeting live on the City’s website, Facebook, YouTube, or Thurston Community Media, Channel 3.

On July 20, 2023, the Lacey City Council passed Resolution 1135, declaring the intention of the City Council to consider a vacation of unopened right-of-way abutting Rainier Road.

If the vacation of unopened right-of-way is approved by City Council, the City would no longer have interest or access, and the property within these limits would belong to abutting property owners. If property owners in the district would like to provide oral testimony on the vacation of unopened right-of-way, they may preregister to speak at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_n_Xc2TPURNyUwYMMZNQDiA. Instructions and access details will be provided once registration is complete. Registration closes at 4:00 p.m. on August 17, 2023.

Persons wishing to provide written testimony on the public hearing or written objections to the proposed vacation per RCW 35.79.020 may send their comments to PublicComment@ci.lacey.wa.us no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 17, 2023.
