Public Art Background

Nat and Thelma Jackson have dedicated their lives to creating a better community in Lacey and beyond. They have worked to advance racial equity and systemic change to provide equal opportunities and affirmative actions in government, education, business, criminal justice, and health care.

The seeds they have planted in the community will continue to flourish for years to come. Cultivating the Future is a glass mosaic installation by artist Jennifer Kuhns, created in 2021. The piece is currently on display at the Lacey Community Center located at Woodland Creek Park on Pacific Avenue.
