Public Art Background
Kite Boy welcomes drivers to Lacey at the city’s boundary on Sleater-Kinney Road and I-5. The city acquired this installation in 1998 from artist Gary Price for a cost of $11,000. Kite Boy’s sister, Kite Girl, can be found on the eastern boundary of the city at Pacific Avenue.
