Lacey Police Department’s Community Resources Unit (CRU) provides outreach services to Lacey’s most vulnerable community members.
Currently, the CRU has two police officers and a sergeant, who respond to people who are homeless and in need of behavioral health and/or social services. The program’s goal is to help unsheltered individuals enter, engage, and complete the necessary steps to achieve a safe residence and a return to stability, health, and productivity in the community. CRU also conducts community outreach with businesses and neighborhoods, community events, and help with fugitive apprehension.
