Recruitment for Lacey City Manager Underway

The search for the City of Lacey’s next City Manager is now underway.

The Lacey City Council started the recruitment process late last year by forming an Executive Recruitment Firm Selection Committee (“Committee”) consisting of Mayor Andy Ryder, Councilmember Lenny Greenstein, and Councilmember Robin Vazquez.  To lead the City Manager recruitment process, the Committee recommended, and the full Lacey City Council approved, the selection of the GMP Consultants, a nationally recognized municipal executive search firm.

Ray Corpus, GMP Consultants Project Manager, provided an overview of the recruitment profile and schedule to the Lacey City Council at the January 12, 2023 Worksession.  As part of the recruitment process, Corpus met with each City Councilmember and interviewed key internal stakeholders to gather information for the position profile.

“We’re very excited about moving forward with this process and finding our next great municipal leader,” said Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder.  “We have some phenomenal opportunities on the horizon that we are well positioned for in terms of talent, finances, and fortitude.  Our next City Manager will be instrumental in charting the future for our growing city.”

  • January 17, 2023 – Recruitment Profile posted
  • February 19, 2023 – First Review
