The Lacey Police Department is supported by a core group of dedicated volunteers that provide around 10,000 hours of support to public safety enhancement in the community.
Lacey Resource Officers are uniformed volunteers that support the Lacey Police Department. Lacey Resource Officers do the following activities:
- provide vacation house checks
- support community events
- supervise low-risk inmates during community service litter and graffiti clean-ups
- patrol areas of the City’s trails
- assist Police Assistants with customer service
- assist Investigation Division with processing fraud packets
- issue citations for disabled parking violations.
If you are interested in joining the Lacey Resource Officer program, applications can be obtained from the Human Resources Department or at the Police Department located at Lacey City Hall.
