The City of Lacey is the most racially and ethnically diverse city in Thurston County. The City firmly believes that it is a stronger community because of the diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of its community members. Through policies, practices, services and programming, the City strives to be a welcoming and inclusive city to all residents, visitors, and businesses.
The City, with the Commission on Equity, is currently working on a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan. It is anticipated that this plan will come before the Lacey City Council for consideration in July 2024.
The City is committed to partnering with local civic leaders and organizations to improve communication with underrepresented groups to address areas of concern.
