Parks Improvement Funding Workgroup

We need your help.

As our community continues to grow, we need your help finding better ways to fund future parks improvements. The Lacey City Council seeks community members with a wide range of voices and perspectives to serve on the new ad hoc Parks Improvement Funding Workgroup. Experience in parks, cultural programs, indoor or outdoor recreation, finance, or funding strategy is preferred, but not required. The application period is open through Sunday, July 7.

The Workgroup’s primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Review parks expansion and replacement projects identified in the 2023-2029 Parks Capital Improvement Program (PCIP). (You can find the PCIP on pages 143-149 of the 2023-2029 Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation Comprehensive Plan.)
  • Analyze available funding options.
  • Recommend a funding package including sources and amounts, and a prioritized list of parks capital projects to the City Council.

The Workgroup will consist of:

  • At least seven, general voting members who reside within Lacey or the Lacey Urban Growth Area (UGA).
    (Check your address here.)
  • A maximum of thirteen members, including voting, non-voting, and ex-officio.

In addition, the Workgroup may include:
