FREE SUMMER MEALS & PLAY PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

Summer can be a very difficult time for youth who face food insecurity and little or no opportunity for recreation or learning outside the school environment. The City and North Thurston Public Schools (NTPS) offer programs to help address these needs.

NTPS provides youth, 18 and under, free meals (breakfast, lunch, and/or snack — depending on location) during the summer. To take part in the Free Summer Meal Program, youth can show up at one of the school sites during meal service times; no preregistration or paperwork required.
To learn more about this program, including a list of dates, times, locations, and meals provided, visit ntps.news/SummerMeals .

In addition to the free meal program, we invite youth, ages 6-12, to join us for some fun this summer with Playground Pals! Our incredible Parks staff will be at Mt. View and Lydia Hawk Elementary Schools, thanks to a partnership with NTPS, offering playground supervision as well as organized activities. Participants will enjoy arts and crafts, games, fitness, water activities, and even a summer reading program brought to you by the Timberland Regional Library.

Playground Pals is a free program for NTPS students; however, preregistration is required.

To register (spaced is limited), visit LaceyParks.org/Register .

REMINDER: OUTDOOR WATERING SCHEDULE JUNE 1-SEPTEMBER 30

Since 2006, our mandatory watering schedule has helped reduce peak water demand during the summer and keep costs down.
Temporary exemptions are available to water customers with new lawns and landscapes.
To apply for a temporary exemption or get details
about the mandatory summer watering schedule, visit CityofLacey.org/Odd-Even .

REPORT A SPILL!

Storm drains are for RAIN ONLY! Pollutants leaked or dumped into
storm drains can flow to nearby lakes, streams, and Puget Sound— and they can even find their way into our drinking water supplies.
With more than 6,000 storm drains in Lacey, we need your help keeping them free of pollutants.

To report a spill, call (360) 491-5644.

HELP KEEP LACEY PARKS ENJOYABLE FOR ALL USERS!

Lacey has over 1,200 acres of parkland and open spaces — plenty for all to enjoy!

For everyone’s safety and park enjoyment, as well as protecting our water quality, please remember these rules when you take your dog to a park:

  • Keep your dog on a leash at all times — even if you don’t see other park visitors.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of your dog’s waste.

Stream Team makes it easy to dispose of your dog’s waste with two free giveaways: On-leash, pet waste bag dispensers and neighborhood pet waste pick-up stations.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dog Waste:

  • Contains disease-causing bacteria & microorganisms that make people sick (10 billion bacteria in one pound!).
  • Can survive for months on the ground.
  • Pollutes our water & contributes to beach closures.
  • Should never be put in your compost bin.

On-leash, Pet Waste Bag Dispenser

Lacey residents can pick-up a free, on-leash pet waste bag dispenser at Lacey City Hall. Thurston County residents, call (360) 754-4013 or email
Cynthia.Taylor@co.thurston.wa.us for pick-up location information.

Neighborhood Pet Waste Pick-Up Stations

Eligible HOAs, multifamily housing complexes, and pet-related businesses can get a free, pet waste station.

For details, contact Lacey Water Resources at WaterResources@CityofLacey.org or (360) 491-5600.
